Below is pertinent information for the rest of the semester.

CD/DVD’s
The SUMB CD and DVD’s will be available very soon. I will send an email regarding when students can pick up your free copies.

Recruiting
We are currently in the process of recruiting for next year. As of now, admissions has provided me a list of more than 200 prospective students!! Anything you can do to encourage others to join is greatly appreciated. We will be offering all the same incentives as last year and class times will be similar. In addition, we are looking at performing for a few high school marching band competitions. More information will be coming as we firm up details. If you would like to assist with the recruiting process, please let me know.

Remember our goal is to have at least 100 Marching Mustangs on the field this fall-Please SPREAD THE WORD AND START RECRUITING!

If you know of interested people please tell them to go to the SUMB website and complete the student interest form or contact me.

Uniforms
We are currently in the process of having uniform samples made. They will be sent to us to choose which we like and then we will begin sizing you for the very first SUMB uniform.

Spring Marching Band Rehearsals
During the months of March and April we will meet as a band, hand out music, begin Colorguard training and begin to prepare for the fall show. This will put us much farther ahead than we were last semester.

Spring Open Houses
We will NOT be performing at any of the Spring Open Houses. However, if you would like to assist with the marching band booth or help to recruit, please contact me.

2012 Band Camp and Fall Schedule
Times will be announced very soon regarding the band camp and fall schedule.

Other Music Performance Classes
Interested in playing in the off season? This will help your playing in the fall.

Professors Jared Denhard and Bob Suggs (who are excellent musicians and instructors) will be offering an indoor music performance class that will play music ranging from Klezmer, Gypsy, Jazz, Appalachian, Straight Ahead Jazz, and Cajun Music. The group meets (as an activity, all fun and glory, no credit) on Thursdays at 3:00 to 4:00 in the Exchange and will perform on the Music Department’s Spring Concert. All instruments/levels are welcome!

Anyone interested should contact (Jdenhard@stevenson.edu) or just show up on Thursday, Feb 9th at the Exchange, at 3:00pm

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
